Losing a loved one is hard.

It doesn’t matter at what age you suffer that loss. It also doesn’t matter if you have suffered such a loss before.

Grief is painful and remains so for a very very long time.

It’s a personal loss and a private emotion that you experience while being in public.

It is incomprehensible how while your world has stopped, the rest of the world is business as usual. The normalcy of the outside world is baffling. The strangeness of your own new one is perplexing. And the parallel running of both of these is just disorienting.

It is difficult. It is hurtful. And more often than not, it is lonely, making the process of healing, long and weary.

Seeking help doesn’t even cross your mind, because it’s all just me and the thoughts in my head, no?

No. It’s not.
